About

The FASE - Federation of Organs for Social and Educational Assistance - was founded in 1961. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that operates today in six Brazilian states and has its national headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. From its beginnings, it was committed to the work of local, community and associative organization and development.

Throughout the 1960s, FASE laid the foundations for a work linked to associativism and cooperativism, but the coup of 64 made these directions have to be redefined.Resistance to dictatorship and the formation of trade union oppositions and community grassroots movements became the main focus of the organization.
