The League of Cities of the Philippines is the official association of cities in the Philippines— represented by their respective mayors—mandated to ventilate, articulate, and crystallize issues affecting city governments and urban communities.

Formed in 1988 and comprised of 145 member-cities, the League has become an active force in the Philippine government through the years by representing our member-cities in the national stage and championing the welfare of local governments in policymaking.

Recognizing that our country’s progress is contingent upon the development of our local governments, the League also works towards building the capacities of cities through projects and programs that touch on various aspects of local governance and the UN Sustainability Development Goals.
The League has a National Executive Board, headed by its National Chairperson, that serves as the highest policymaking body.

The League Secretariat, under the leadership of its Executive Director and jointly supervised by the National President and Secretary-General, has become the main arsenal managing the League’s daily operations, ranging from full administrative support to policy development, stakeholder advocacy, and project implementation.
