About
Synergy for Justice is a dynamic, women-led, multi-disciplinary justice organization. Established by seasoned legal and medical practitioners, Synergy directors have developed and enhanced justice processes around the world. We have supported the design, implementation, and management of locally-driven, survivor-centred justice programming since 2015 in complex, fluid, and conflict-prone environments.
Their core areas of work are Advancing Accountability for Torture and Sexual Violence, Enhancing Gendered Justice Outcomes and Protection, Empowering People to Advance Human Rights, and Strengthening Anti-Trafficking. Their interventions are grounded in our team's decades of global experience strengthening the capacity of local partners and contributing to global best practices to enhance justice and accountability around the world.
Synergy’s founding ideology – that multidisciplinary approaches maximise positive impact and outcomes for all – is the thread that links all of our work. All Synergy programmes, trainings, and tools capitalise on the expertise and diverse perspectives that our multidisciplinary team brings. Their approach ensures that the collective expertise from a team of lawyers, doctors, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) specialists, investigators, human rights defenders, and subject matter experts is combined to provide the holistic responses necessary to ensuring that survivors of human rights violations are empowered and receive the highest quality of care.
Synergy’s multidisciplinary and holistic approach also builds the capacity of local partners through mentorship, training, and localized tools to forensically document torture and sexual violence cases and to develop confidential and survivor-centric case management systems for survivors and their families so that they can access specialist support services and reintegrate safely into their communities.
