As an experienced CEO and Board Member, I have almost 20 years of professional experience in both the private and public sectors, in the areas of: natural capital measurement and accounting, asset valuation, and strategic management; landscape conservation; nature positive investment, sustainable forest management; and, environmental markets, climate policy and climate financing (including marine and terrestrial bio-sequestration opportunities). With a PhD in climate finance and ecological economics, I have extensive experience in communicating and integrating science into public policy and business decision-making - this is backed by an extensive academic track record. Previously, I led the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientist's natural capital program - a collaborative research and policy initiative to estimate the investment required to repair Australia's environmental assets - fueled by the leading work of many of the nation's top scientist and economists. I have also led teams of experts to deliver capacity building and climate financing advisory projects and policies for many governments and private organisations around the world including in Australia, Uzbekistan, Kosovo, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, China, Indonesia, Chile, Malaysia, Italy, Thailand, Bangladesh, the Philippines and New Zealand. This has included for the World Bank, UNDP (multiple offices), US Environmental Defense Fund, the International Rubber Research and Development Board, and the Australian Government. I have also been involved in the commercialisation of biogas systems and carbon offset projects in Australia. My interest is in working with good people to develop and implement highly-innovative business models that aim to maximise people, planet and profit - all of which can be measured and that deliver verifiable outcomes.
