Dr. Birhanu Sendek Getahun brings more than 20 years of progressively responsible experience providing clinical services and leading, managing, and implementing Health System Strengthening and Health Service Delivery interventions/ projects spanning RMNCAH/Family Planning, malaria, Global Health Security, and QI approaches in Liberia and Ethiopia funded by USAID, DfID, KOICA, & other donors. Currently, Dr. Birhanu is Country Director for the Jhpiego Liberia office, providing overall leadership to all projects, including the recently ended USAID-funded Health System Strengthening Project in Liberia that focuses on improved RMNCAH/ family planning and malaria outcomes and US-CDC funded Enhancing Global Health Security Project, PEPFAR-HRSA funded Global Reach-II, and GAVI funded malaria vaccine introduction in Liberia.
