Dr. Christina N’Tchougan-Sonou is an educational development professional with 25 years of experience in educational management and project implementation in West and North Africa and the Middle East. She has been Chief of Party for four USAID projects in three African countries and has been a US-based Senior Project Director for Education and Youth Workforce projects in Mali, Egypt, Senegal, Djibouti, Jordan and Afghanistan. Dr. N’Tchougan-Sonou has extensive experience in managing projects dealing with complex educational reform initiatives, interacting with partners at local, national and international levels, bringing out the best in diverse project teams, integrating gender equity and life skills within formal and non-formal education settings, promoting youth-led solutions to school dropout, building governmental capacities for distance education, working with civil society organizations in the context of decentralization, supervising small-scale grants initiatives and school infrastructure improvements, overseeing monitoring and evaluation within the USAID project context, and working in challenging situations. Dr. N’Tchougan-Sonou received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Studies from Oxford University. She is fluent in English and French.
