Dr Rufael Fassil has over 20 years of international evaluation experience across a broad range of development sectors. He worked in UNDP, USAID, Tetra Tech ARD., ATA and World Vision International. He has conducted a variety of corporate, country, sector, thematic and project evaluations, as well as a variety of learning products. He brings a depth and breadth of knowledge and practice in the areas of the support and capacity-building required in leadership and strategic management; designing and conducting evaluations; effective performance measurement systems; and promoting evidence-based programming and policymaking. Dr. Fassil's in-country operational work includes that in East-Timor, Ethiopia, Germany, Kenya, South Africa, Iraq, and Zimbabwe. His areas of specialization are Evaluation, Impact Evaluation, Evaluation Capacity Development, Strategic Planning, Civil Society Strengthening, robust result-based management system and knowledge management. He holds a PhD in Economics from University of Oldenburg, Germany and a MA in Development from University of Bremen, Germany.
