Francis Simo Peumo

Medical doctor and a Public Health specialist. I have experience with progressively increasing responsibility co-designing, implementing, managing, and leading health projects/programs in the field of Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Research, domains like HIV/TB/Malaria, Performance Based Financing, Health Promotion, Paupers/refugees, and Gender-Based violence issues. I value 12 years’ experience in this domain in the Sub-Saharan region or low- and middle-income countries (Cameroon, Mali, Niger, Chad, Central African Republic, Kenya and Ethiopia). Before being a consultant and advisor in health strengthening to the Ministries of Health, Economy, Planing, Development and International Cooperation in Chad, I had occupied similar post to the Ministry of Health and Social Development in Mali. I have worked with many national, international organizations and donors like the World Bank Group, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Global Fund to Fight Tuberculosis, Aids and Malaria (GFTAM), International Medical Corps (IMC), Agence Européenne pour le Development et la Santé (Aedes), the African Union (AU), European Countries and Developing Trial Partnership (EDCTP). I am also a continuous learner and very adaptive Evaluator and Manager. I carried out some short-term consultancy and audit services in various areas including but not limited to Universal Health coverage, Child Labor, Performance Based Financing, Malaria, HIV, Tuberculosis, Health Sector Strengthening, Research and Assistance to poor, marginalized or vulnerable groups (refugees). Before being a Consultant to the Ministry of Health in Mali, I was the Manager of the Performance-Based Financing (PBF), I also worked as Health Specialist and Research Assistant at the Institute for Research, Socio-Economic Development and Communication (IRESCO) in Yaoundé Cameroon. Skilful in overseeing project administration, financial management as well as monitoring and evaluation, staffing and collaborating with stakeholders involved, networks and partnership including National Government Officials, executives of Health Districts, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs). I have excellent interpersonal, intercultural and presentation skills in English, writing and oral. Advanced level of French (native). With a sense of initiative and client focused attitude.
