Georgette Pokou

I have 28 years of continuous relevant experience in a variety of major program development and management roles with international non-governmental organizations in the fields of health, education, nutrition, food security, community development and civil society strengthening. The programs and grants that I managed range in amount from 8 million to 50 million US dollars. I have the demonstrated ability to achieve significant results and build strategic relationships in a variety of cross-cultural and organizational contexts. I am recognized for my strategic planning, program leadership, capacity building and management abilities. Some of my key achievements to date include leading the operations of major programs; developing relevant monitoring tools to track project progress towards achieving results; collecting, documenting and disseminating project best practices and lessons learned; fostering project quality assurance and learning. I have a proven track record in financial and operational management – I developed and monitored large budgets; conducted budget vs. actual analyses and forecasts to ensure that projects are on track and are implemented within approved budgets and in accordance with set policies and procedures. Furthermore, I excel in forging donor‐client relationships and negotiating partnerships. I traveled and worked in the following countries for long and short-term assignments: Benin, Eastern Caribbean, Kenya, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Uganda, Ethiopia and the United States of America. I enjoy being part of a team and I am also considered to be a self-starter who employs and values the attention to detail required to make sound and timely decisions. My good interpersonal relationship, strong belief in teamwork, sound analytical and communication skills allow me to surmount complex hurdles in development assistance.
