I hold the MA (ECON) in Economics and Management of Rural Development Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Administration from the University of Manchester, UK. Since 1990, I have held executive leadership positions and provided strategic leadership for a number of reputable humanitarian and development organizations. I have acquired excellent conceptual knowledge of agriculture and livelihood security; women’s economic empowerment, women and child health, and gender and development themes. I have designed strategies that increased and sustained women’s economic empowerment that includes partnership with the government, private sector and foundations. Value addition and market access, and the promotion of savings and loans are central to my economic empowerment strategy. In two years, I led the extablishment of 1,400 savings groups with an annual savings of US$1.2million and a micro-finance with a capital of over US$ 2 million. I have also designed and implemented strategies and multi-million, multi-year and multi-sectoral integrated programme approaches that have contributed to the reduction of child malnutrition and mother and child death from preventable causes in target communities, and increased children learning outcome
