Summary

Jean Paul Ngandu-Mbanga has over 20 years of experience in health care services and hospital management in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Namibia. He has been coordinating the implementation of Medical Injection Safety – Health Care Waste Management Program and USAID Health Care Improvement Project in all health care facilities from Otjozondjupa, Oshikoto, Oshana, Ohangwena, Omusati and Kunene regions in Namibia. His clinical experience includes working with Infection Prevention and Control, anaesthesia and nursing care, responsibility for TB and TB/HIV patients infection control, in developing and implementing evidence based infection prevention and control strategies, developing and implementing Infection Prevention and Control policies and guidelines, developing Infection Prevention and Control training curriculum, training of professionals and non-professionals health care workers in the public and private health sectors, training of students at the pre and in-service institutions including the training of liner ministries staff and community sensitization in Infection Prevention and Control, providing technical assistance to local and global organizations, conducting qualitative researches/surveys with general public and key informants in qualitative male circumcision, WHO Hand Hygiene Self-Assessment Global Framework, Insight Drivers on tabacco smoking from teenage girls in the UK, dta management, typical and interdepartmental relationship of hospital departments, clinics and health centres, developing and implementing M&E audit tools for Infection Prevention and Control, Project Monitoring and Evaluation writing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, excellent in verbal and written communication with professionals and non-professionals, ability to actively interact with multi-disciplinary teams of Infection Prevention and Control as well as others, ability to work independently with high productivity, professionalism and customer care with positive attitude, ability to multi-tasks delegated and non-delegated, ability to travel weekly in the remote areas. Infection Prevention and Control Consultant for the World Health Organization with the Global Outbreak and Alerts Response Network (GOARN) to Ebola Outbreak in DRC, WHO/Patient Safety Consultant for Basic Patient Safety and Hospital Implementation in Zimbabwe. Currently, Jean-Paul Ngandu-Mbanga is serving at the Infection Control Africa Network (ICAN) as Board of directors since November 1, 2011 to present. Jean-Paul is an International Health Consultant, owner and Managing Director for Health Star International CC, which is an Infection Prevention and Control Consultancy since October 1, 2012 to date.
