Leigh Gregory

Leigh Gregory is a Consultant and Specialist Advisor in Disaster Management and Community Development working in Pacific, Timor-Leste, Australia, Indonesia and Bangladesh. Leigh Gregory is currently engaged as the Covid-19 Coordinator for Tonga supporting the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in the Pacific under the auspices of the DFAT funded Australia Assists Program. From January to July 2019 he was the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Specialist at the Samoan National Disaster Management Office under the auspices of the Australia Assists Program. From mid 2015 to 2018 he was engaged as a Disaster Management Specialist implementing a range of Projects for IOM in Timor Leste. From mid-2013 to mid-2015 he was a (DFAT) Australian Civilian Corp Specialist deployed with the National Disaster Management Directorate in Dili, Timor Leste. Prior to this as the Darwin Regional Manager for Australian Red Cross he managed teams in the areas of Mental Health, Family Programs, Migration Support, Food Security and Emergency Services in remote Aboriginal Communities and urban locations. Leigh has worked in the fields of Education, Training, Economic Development, Community Development and Disaster Management in South Asia, the Pacific, SE ASIA and both urban and remote Aboriginal communities in Australia. Leigh is a fluent speaker of Bahasa Indonesia and an accredited translator in the language. He is looking for opportunities to apply his extensive experience in humanitarian program administration, capacity building, education (curriculum development/administration), emergency services, disaster recovery, governance and community development. Leigh holds post graduate qualifications in Asian Studies, Development and Education and has undertaken a wide range of training in International Aid and Humanitarian Action. He recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Emergency and Disaster Management from Charles Darwin University.
