Summary

I am a Science Graduate and having Masters Degree in Sociology and have around 20+ years of work experience in addressing environmental & social safeguard sectors. Currently, I am working as a Independent Consultant (Social Economist Cum Deputy Team Leader) in Bangladesh KfW funded Project. I have extensive experience in handling Social Sustainability in Power projects, Hydro-Projects, Highways, Structures, Urban and Regional Infrastructure Development, Railways, Traffic and Transportation, Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building, and Socio-Economic and Social Impact Assessment. I am responsible to lead my Social Development team for carrying out impact assessment and resettlement plans for various infrastructure projects by following national and funding agency policies and guidelines. In my previous engagements, in addition to above, I was involved in awareness programs related to women issues, child labour, road safety and health related issues like awareness of HIV/AIDS in the rural areas. I was actively engaged in the preparation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) and Indigenous Peoples Plans (IPP) on several projects. Reviewed and furnished Preparation of EIA & SIA, Land Acquisition Plan (LAP), Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and Indigenous Peoples Plans (IPP). This includes environmental and social surveys, R&R survey (census and socio- economic), Public Consultation, Focus Group Discussion on project sites. I'm well aware with KfW / Asian Development Bank (ADB) Safeguards Policies and procedures on Social Development, involuntary resettlement and indigenous peoples and have helped the Executing and Implementing Agencies to address the issues related to these. Considering my vast experience in this sector, I am confident that I can very efficiently deliver the task, which will be assigned to me. I have ability to interact professionally with senior government officials and with funding agency staff. Being a female, I feel that I can handle sensitive gender related issues with more precision. I have international and PAN India working experience with good oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi. To sum up, I am a qualified, experienced, motivated professional, dedicated team player, excellent listener, problem solver, wise mentor, creative thinker and good planner. I feel KfW can provide opportunities to women like me a good platform to review and monitor projects and help professionals to diversify in their roles. I shall be interested to be associated with KfW and would like to contribute and share my experiences with different stakeholders.
