Ref: COP for USAID Tanzania Mission Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism

Monitoring and evaluation (M&E), linked to program design and implementation, has been a central part of my entire professional career in the field of development. My work with M&E began while I was a division chief in the Bureau for Global Health in USAID, throughout two COP field assignments and most recently supervising the M&E specialist under PROGRESS, a USAID project that supports capacity building and policy development at the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Jakarta.

Below I have summarized the experience and assets I would bring to this position in Tanzania:

• Successful field-level Chief of Party experience and perspective that will ensure the effective and efficient performance for all aspects of this contract;

• Direct experience with development of M&E plans including indicator matrix, performance and indicator reference sheets, data collection, verification, data quality and reporting.

• Understanding of what is needed to develop a successful USAID/contractor relationship;

• Experience working with USAID mission directors and embassy staff, and USG and local government officials as well as the private sector and civil society;

• Managed up to 150 staff as VP of Program Operations and $500 million in project design, award and oversight at USAID.

In my capacity as COP I would bring a high level of involvement with the client to achieve insight into areas where support may be applied to accomplish client goals most effectively. My CV will highlight proven ability to multi-task, ability to meet deadlines and process information in support of USAID needs, demonstrated flexibility, and accountability for results.

My assignment in Indonesia recently ended; I expect to be back in the DC area late August or September.
