Mr Ede has more than 43 years of experience in international development and humanitarian aid programming in the field of environment, WASH, climate change, health, urban/rural development, crisis/humanitarian response and peace building, rehabilitation and infrastructure re-construction. He has successfully led and implemented 23 projects/programmes in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP), the Americas, Asia, and Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions, focusing on less-developed countries (LDCs) and in-transition economies. In addition, he has conducted 11 successful joint emergency response assessments, with agencies such as UNICEF, UN, ECHO, OFDA and USAID. As a highly qualified Project Cycle Management (PCM), Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) expert, having a wealth of experience applying Development Assistance Committee (DAC) criteria in evaluation, he has successfully completed evaluations on over 15 assignments in the last 30 years. With vast experience in the development of blended investment instruments for EU and EIB, he has an excellent knowledge of the donor landscape and major IFIs, such as ADB, IADB, KfW, EU, EIB, UN, USAID, GAC, AfDB and the World Bank, establishing consensus with donors, governments, urban/rural institutions, NGOs and other stakeholders. Mr Ede is a Policy development expert, with considerable expertise in institutional strengthening and organisational development. He also always stressed the need to mainstream cross-cutting issues (good governance, environment, human rights and rights-based approaches, gender, HIV/AIDS) in emergency, rehabilitation and development environments. During his career, Mr Ede has developed a unique ability to build a good rapport with local cultures in cross-border interventions, using participatory approaches. In the same vein, he is extremely flexible, proven by extensive field work in remote areas of Small Island States (SIS), inaccessible areas of LAC/ACP and leadership in disaster/conflict-based emergencies.
