Summary

My name is Massimo (Virgilio) Amorosi, and I am currently working as Chief Technical Advisor (Team Leader position) in Ethiopia since 2017 in a pastoral and resilience program funded by the German Development Cooperation by KfW. I am going to be available to consider future assignments, both long terms and short terms, starting from 2022. I also would like to ask you to retain my resume in your roaster for future potential opportunities of collaboration. I hold a fist degree in Political Sciences and a two Master Degrees one in Agriculture Development (Wye College, UK, 1996) and another one in Environmental Management (Imperial College, London University, UK, 2004). I also hold a post degree Diploma in Conflict Management at Open University (2009). I am an agriculture economist, environmental and food security specialist. I have been holding various managerial positions in development cooperation. In long term missions, I have covered positions of Technical Advisor, Country Director, Team Leader and Chief Technical Advisor. I have experience in project coordination, project management and monitoring and evaluation. I had the opportunity of leading multi-cultural teams and working in managerial position, with various stakeholders namely national Governments, donor agencies, Regional Economic Communities and NGOs. I have experience in political representation and multi-donors and inter- government agencies coordination. In terms of thematic areas, my strong points are Food Security, Rural Development, Regional Integration, Social Protection, Environmental Management (with Climate Change as a main one) Value Chain and Conflict Resolution. As a long-term consultant, I have been working in Zimbabwe, Somalia, Djibouti, Kenya and Ethiopia. As s short- term consultant, I have been working in agriculture economics, project evaluation in conflict areas and agro-processing projects., in Ethiopia and South-Sudan. Geographically, I have worked only in Africa for 33 years out of which 28 years in East Africa. During my assignment at Africa Union (2013 – 2016) I have been travelling for short missions in many countries in West Africa, Mauritius, South Africa, Namibia and Botswana for coordination activities in environmental management with applications in water development, forestry, agriculture and climate change.
