
Mohammad Hafez has 10 years of experience, specializing in Project Management, strategic communications for C/PVE, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Information Management and Communications Systems (ICT) and Digital Impact on Social Media platforms (Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram) in conflict settings. He played a significant role in shaping EF's ongoing Countering Disinformation in The Middle East Program through fostering EF’s network of journalists and CSOs in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. In his current position, he also oversees program’s website and social media platforms and develops content based on program’s objectives. He facilitates the planning of the project’s events including the in-person/online trainings and online events such as webinars and forum discussions. In support of this project, he also manages the associated grants portfolio including, support to application review, contracts management, and procurement oversight. Having worked on behalf of both the humanitarian and private sectors, he has designed and operationalized M&E and IM systems and solutions for multiple projects in conflict conditions. Before joining EF, he served as Digital Impact lead/M&E specialist on a multi-donor Syria program, working on measuring the reach and impact of communication campaigns on all type of social media platforms inside Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. In this role, he developed sampling methodologies, data collection tools, electronic data collection systems, interview protocols, Social Media with impact evaluative trainings, and focus group discussion guides. Previously serving as Senior officer with International Rescue Committee (IRC), he created effective data collection and reporting systems for Education and Child Protection programming. Using his ICT experience, his inputs facilitated rapid and accurate reporting against Donor and Program requirements and indicators. He has worked with most advanced data collection applications, data analysis programs, and mapping programs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology engineering and is fluent in Arabic, English, and proficient in Turkish.
