I am an accomplished expert in community development, stabilization and governance with more than 25 years of experience in 8 countries with a focus on the MENA region. In Jordan and the West Bank/Gaza I worked for more than 8 years to build community resilience against destabilizing factors. Subsequently, I served as a director of a $52 million World Bank marginalized communities resilience strengthening project through working with Palestinian CSOs. After that, I have served in Iraq for 10 years as a Deputy Chief of Party and then as a Chief of Party on $500 million USAID projects to enhance inclusion of communities in the policy and development process and to empower the government to respond effectively to their needs. At MSI’s home office, I carried out multiple research to address the underlying drivers of conflict in target communities, counter violent extremism and gender-based violence to build inclusive local development and economic opportunities.
