My mission is to make a difference in the lives of women and girls. I have worked hard to fulfill that mission through international development activities. As a gender expert, I have conducted gender analyses, gender integration, strategic planning, gender training and gender research. I have strong writing skills stemming from a prolific communications background that includes several articles and books, as well as research and evaluation skills. As a generalist, I have worked on gender issues in a variety of sectors, including environment, education, economic growth, health, energy, and food security. My decades long experience working with USAID projects, the MCC, and UNICEF, as well as my efforts in philanthropy and civil society inform my understanding of the development landscape. I lived for six years in West Africa, specifically Senegal, and two years in Southern Africa. Additionally, I have worked in or visited over 18 countries on the African continent.
