Summary

Thabani has 17 years’ experience in developing country specific monitoring, evaluation, communication and Learning strategies for international development programmes funded by FCDO, USAID, EU, BMZ, GIZ, World Bank and SDC. He is very experienced in designing, developing and operating performance monitoring systems for Participatory Planning, Monitoring, Reporting, Evaluation and Learning (PMREL). He has core experience in designing qualitative and quantitative data collection systems and in leading the scheduling, design and quality control of internal and external project evaluations. Thabani has provided and led MEAL capacity building programs for various organisations (including partner organisations) in various roles as consortium Lead and regional expert for parallel projects in Zimbabwe and Zambia, applying evidence-based learning to integrate best practices. He received capacity building and various trainings in the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) Approach and the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) standards in Monitoring Evaluation and Learning. Thabani has gained thorough understanding of facilitating approaches for rural livelihood development and the importance of demand driven production, local ownership, evidence-based decision making as well as the market system development concept.
