Dr. NGUYEN THI BICH THUY is currently Mangroves and Markets (MAM) project manager of a SNV on climate change adaptation and mitigation project in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. She has more than 15 years’ experience in forestry research in the wetland of Mekong Delta, under MRC, TRP. Her qualification is also as a forestry economist with intensive experience to work with national and sub-national Government stakeholders to establish Payment for Forest Ecosystem Policy (PES) under ARBCP, Winrock International (USAID). She was leading REDD+ component for more than 5 years’ experience that started REDD+ for Lam Dong province. Dr Thuy has strong experience to work with Government stakeholders, private sector and community levels through her efficient and enthusiastic supports from project designing to implementation. Her results were highly evaluated with the highest Certificates of Merit from the MARD and the PPC of Lam Dong province for her great contribution in designing and implementing pilot PES in Lam Dong and established the PFES degree for Viet Nam (in 2010, 2011). Currently, Thuy's leading successfully for an "International initiative project" called MAM1 (2012-2016). So that it was approved for second phrase (MAM2) on "Scaling up Mangrove Ecosystem Based Adaptation in the Mekong Delta" (2016-2020). For these contributions, she got Certificate of Merit for sustainable development of aquaculture twice, in 2013 and 2016, by Ca Mau PPC.
