Summary

As the Head of Child and Youth Safeguarding for Eastern and Southern Africa, I have a significant responsibility in promoting and protecting the rights of children and youth in the region. My extensive experience as a Child and Youth Safeguarding/Protection and Youth Development specialist, working in various parts of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, gives a broad perspective and valuable insights into the challenges faced by children and youth in different contexts. In my current role, I have a range of important responsibilities. These may include developing and implementing child safeguarding policies and procedures, providing training and capacity-building initiatives for staff and partners, conducting risk assessments, overseeing the reporting and investigation of child protection concerns, and collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to advocate for children's rights. My work is crucial in ensuring that children in Eastern and Southern Africa are protected from all forms of abuse, exploitation, and neglect, By actively engaging and promoting children's rights at different levels, I play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for them to thrive and reach their full potential
