BACKGROUND
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint cooperation agency of the WTO and the UN for trade-related technical assistance. Its primary objective is to assist developing countries and economies in transition to enhance their international competitiveness while taking advantage of market opportunities and increasing their exports. The Office of the Director, Division of Programme Support (DPS) is responsible for the provision of Human Resources, Financial Management, Common Support Services and Information Technology services.
DPS supports substantive divisions in the fulfilment of the organization’s mandate and in their activities related to programme delivery by providing timely, efficient, reliable and cost effective support services through implementation of client-oriented, transparent and accessible procedures, compliant with related United Nations regulations and rules.
Additionally, the Office of the Director, DPS is responsible for management, coordination and recommendations from external/internal auditors, and various oversight bodies.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Assistant to the Director and overall guidance of the Director, the selected intern will:
• Maintain filing systems, databases, and records in compliance with UN procedures.
• Assist in monitoring the implementation of DPS policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to the development of reports and other deliverables.
• Prepare briefing materials, presentations (MS Word, PowerPoint).
• Compile and analyze data for reports, presentations, and internal briefings.
• Assist in the production of related analysis.
• Support the preparation and organization of meetings, workshops, and other sessions.
• Assist in updating and maintaining intranet/webpages, shared platforms, and communication tools.
• Support knowledge-sharing initiatives, including drafting content for newsletters or internal communications.
• Perform other tasks as required, in line with the needs of the Office of the Director, DPS.

Qualifications/special skills
Applicants to the programme shall, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
a) Be enrolled in the final academic year of the first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or
b) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in a or b above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Relevant field of studies e.g. business studies, management.
