Functional responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Lead Biomedical Engineer, the Biomedical Engineering Technician - Senior Assistant will undertake the following tasks/duties:
Support in preparing technical specifications for medical equipment that is subject to procurement, confirm compliance with the project needs and provide recommendations for improvement if needed
Support in verification of the elaborated technical equipment with beneficiaries and services in terms of its compliance with the project budget and provide recommendations if needed
Support in performing technical evaluation of proposals for the supply of medical equipment
Support in coordination with local suppliers for the delivery and installation of the goods as per the project plan.
Support the team’s preparations for field missions and coordination with the admin and logistics team
Undertake field missions as necessary in support of the unit’s activity plans
Follow-up on the on-site training with suppliers to confirm the operational readiness of the dedicated staff and to ensure maximum transfer of knowledge
Support in coordinating and scheduling visits, preparing agendas and checklists, documenting observations and findings, and following up on action items from site visits.
Contribute to collecting and compiling data, creating comprehensive reports, distributing them timely, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent (secondary education)l is required.
A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering or other relevant healthcare technology-related profession.
A Master’s degree may substitute for some years of experience.
