DOS provides end-to-end operational support, advisory services, and solutions to UN entities, including departments, field offices, peace operations, and regional commissions.
The Human Resources Services Division (HRSD) supports HR requirements from process development through service delivery.
The intern will jointly support the Staffing Innovation team and the Non-Staff Capacities Unit in OSAS, HRSD, OSO, DOS.
Reports to the Chief of Section, HR Advisory Section 2 / Non-Staff Capacities Unit, and may be supervised by:
Assessment and Innovation Section or Non-Staff Capacities Unit (if in New York)
OICT Inspira Team (if in Bangkok)
Works as a full team member, pursuing project assignments designed to make a significant impact and gain understanding of UN operations.
Key project contributions include:
Collaborate with Inspira technical team and SIPI/NSCU in NY to modernize and streamline the Affiliate Personnel Recruitment Module.
Support alignment between Staff and Affiliate Personnel recruitment modules.
Assist in training efforts related to recruitment process changes (Staff and Affiliate Personnel).
Participate in change management initiatives.
Support training initiatives by drafting presentations, briefing materials, one-pager flyers, cheat sheets, quick guides, and creating training videos.
Support communication to stakeholders through drafting articles for the HR Community of Practice.
Contribute to ongoing projects with AI solutions based on user needs and organizational priorities.
Support optimization of the recruitment process by integrating AI solutions into workflows and systems.
Support data analysis.
Monitor, evaluate, and document progress and outcomes of assigned projects.
Support the Chiefs of Assessment & Innovation Section and Non-Staff Capacities Unit on special projects.
Assist in creating and editing videos.
Assist with graphic design, PowerPoint design, photography, and photo editing.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Must meet one of the following:
Enrolled in or completed a graduate school programme (second degree or higher).
Enrolled in or completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s or equivalent).
Open to a broad range of educational backgrounds.
Relevant coursework in Business Administration, Management, Strategic Communications and Design, Training and Development, Education, or Human Resources Management.
Computer literacy in standard software applications, especially SharePoint and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Keen interest in experimenting with AI tools.
Video editing software knowledge (e.g., Adobe Premiere) desirable.
Experience with social media, communication, change management, or training/development in academic or extracurricular activities is desirable.
Languages
Working languages: English and French.
Fluency in spoken and written English required.
Knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.

Internship is full-time and in-person in New York or Bangkok; part-time requests may be accommodated.
