Job Description

DevTech is implementing the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Economic Growth Support Activity (EGSA). EGSA supports the government of Indonesia and other stakeholders with (i) evidence-based decision making; (ii) technical assistance to improve GOI capacity in public financial management and related governance; and (iii) capacity building to improve the business enabling environment for foreign and domestic enterprises.

The Communication Specialist is the project key writer and will be responsible to implement USAID EGSA communications strategy and development of communications products. S/he will take a proactive approach to identify stories, messaging, and products that communicate the program’s learning and results to various stakeholders, especially USAID.

Scope of Work

The Consultant shall carry out the following tasks:

  • Lead the implementation of the communication strategy of the project
  • Identify key accomplishments of the project and develop/update project fact sheets
  • Lead the production of USAID EGSA success stories, newsletters, press releases, talking points and other publications for every EGSA activities and accomplishments
  • Design flyer, banner and other product to promote USAID EGSA events following USAID branding and marking guidelines
  • Create professional graphics and products for social media, presentations, and dissemination of USAID EGSA work.
  • Routine media monitoring for material substantively affecting the work of the project
  • Support other communications and administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field.
  • Prior work experiences on USAID funded project are preferred.
  • Familiarity with USAID branding and marking requirements will be a plus.
  • Computer literate, excellent skills in MS Office, Word, MS Excel, Power Point, and design related software.
  • Proactive, accountable, good attention to detail and commitment to perform well at work.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Minimum 10 years overall relevant work experience for candidate with bachelor’s degree (and 7 years for candidate with master’s degree) on communication in international donor funded project.
  • Proven excellent writing skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia, supported by experience in writing project outreach materials, including success stories, short articles, social media postings, and content for audio and visual related reports.
  • Excellent command in English and Bahasa Indonesia

All deliverables must be prepared in USAID reporting format and must be acceptable by EGSA and USAID.

The Consultants will submit their invoice monthly along with the monthly progress report as attachments to the invoice. The invoice, output and progress report will be reviewed and accepted by EGSA’s leadership.

The consultant will provide services for up to 60 days of level of effort (LOE) from o/a November 2021 – October 2022.
