Job Description

The Community Engagement Specialist is a
consultancy position based in Maputo. The Community Engagement Specialist will report to the team lead and lead the development
and implementation of activities that engage community structures such as
mentors, school focal persons,and other community activists.

  • Responsibilities Include:

● Develop and ensurethe implementation of the projectcommunity entry and engagement strategy.

● In collaboration withthe Training Specialist, ensure consistent, highquality training delivery to project partners, including government and local partnerson community engagement.

● Employ a proven capacity building approach for local
community structures partnering with the project to ensure sustainability of the projectinterventions.

● Collaborate effectively withINJ and MTGAScounterparts on community engagement activities while building theircapacity.

● Perform otherduties as assignedby the Team Lead.

  • Qualifications include:

● Master’s degree in anthropology, sociology, public health, community

development, or a related field.

● Minimum of 8 years of experience (preferably in
Mozambique) in advocacy, community mobilization, and social and behavioral changecommunications in the context of sexual and reproductive healthof adolescent girlsand young women.

● Deep knowledge of the institutional, social, and culturalreality of Mozambique required.

● Excellent communication skills. Fluency in Portuguese and English is required.

● Proven experience andknowledge of community mobilization techniques.

● Proven experience in strengthening localor community structures in organizational
and technical capacity.
