Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Data Cleansing Officer to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester (although the role will initially be home-based during Covid-19 restrictions). You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £22-25k per annum.

As Data Cleansing Officer, the successful candidate’s role will be to complete a project, reviewing and cleansing the organisation’s data held in Salesforce to ensure there are no duplicates, and that the data is in order and correct. The role may also include some administrative tasks that support the wider team. This process of ensuring our data is accurate and useful will increase the efficiency of our internal processes, and thus improve our offering to our donors, helping Human Appeal to maintain their support and continue its growth. We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Data Cleansing Officer:
• Verifying that data shows accurate information and is consistent across the dataset
• Responsible for correcting or removing incorrect, incomplete, or duplicate data within dataset
• Extracting and manipulating data
• Formatting data in readiness to be uploaded to online systems
• Maintaining donor records in accordance with donor requests
• Management of database cleanse routines
• Maintaining audit trail and records of Human Appeal’s work which is subject to regular audit
• Review duplicate records and merge records
• Proactively contact donors to ensure their contact details are up to date
• Support ad-hoc administrative tasks to support the team
• Interrogate data and amend as required
• Liaise with other Human Appeal departments to verify data
What we’re looking for in our Data Cleansing Officer:
• Ideally educated to Degree level in a related field e.g. IT / Finance
• At least 1 year of proven administrative / office-based experience
• Experience of using databases, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong awareness of GDPR and confidentiality
• Previous experience of Data Sourcing and Data Cleansing
• Skilled with several of the following: Excel & Salesforce
• The ability to use specific Excel functions including VLookup and Pivot tables
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, are desirable
• Ideally passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
