The Development Operations Manager will be a part of an exciting, fast-growing non-profit organization. She/he will work as part of a dynamic fundraising team to manage and optimize the operations that are crucial to a thriving development operation. As part of this Portland-based team, the successful candidate will thrive on fostering reciprocal relationships with funders, partners, and board members; building and maintaining various fundraising systems and tools; writing and producing content related to development for distribution; and have a passion for inspiring generosity for women and girls worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

The Development Operations Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing organizational development processes to increase funding revenue. The desired professional interfaces with key stakeholders such as the team, board members, donors, partners, and advisors. The person we seek to hire should possess exemplary management and communication skills, outstanding attention to detail, eagerness to excel in all responsibilities listed below, and capability to grow their role at World Pulse.

• Managing all operational aspects of the Fund Development department and overseeing the work of a three-person team.
• Overseeing systems for prospecting, research, and pipeline development.
• Tracking foundation proposals and reports and supplementary materials to ensure that necessary internal and external deadlines are met for institutional funding.
• Creating and tailoring financial reports into formats requested by foundations and senior leadership team.
• Maintaining content and data for all development materials including direct mail appeal, campaign-specific, and project-specific solicitation materials.
• Support the development and implementation of World Pulse’s monthly giving program.
• Lead the department’s CRM system improvements as well as identifying and championing various tech solutions that support fundraising goals.
• Manage monthly and annual revenue projections with Finance Manager and CFO.
• Oversee incoming gifts processing & stewardship systems.
• Manage fundraising pages and presentation on website and in print publications.
• Represent and liaise for World Pulse in important meetings and forums nationwide.

Desired Skills, Characteristics, and Experience

• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in nonprofit fundraising.
• High level of organization.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Eagerness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and goal-driven environment.
• Demonstrated experience in creating a donor pipeline.
• Strong experience with database operations.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills to analyze data and understand its relationship to the overall fundraising objectives and ability to provide a written assessment.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Commitment and passion to the mission of World Pulse.

Compensation

This is a salaried position with a base salary between $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with skills and experience. Our generous benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, and a 401(k) program, 4-week paid vacation and 10 paid holidays plus sick time. This is a full-time position located in our Portland, Oregon headquarters.
