Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the work of the Digital Transformation Unit in the Division of Production, Productivity and Management.
  • Contribute to communication strategy implementation, event coordination, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Assist in the development and execution of communication strategies.
  • Support the organization of events, meetings, and working group sessions.
  • Draft and design communication materials, including newsletters, infographics, and reports.
  • Prepare presentations and visual content for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide research assistance on topics related to digital transformation, economic development, and regional cooperation.
  • Support the design and layout of publications and online materials.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Enrolled in, or completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s) or a graduate school programme (second degree or higher).
  • Basic knowledge or interest in the economics of science, technology, and innovation, and/or policy experience.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyse data is desirable.
  • Interest in the work of the United Nations is required.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and ability to design visual presentations is desirable.
  • Ability to draft communication materials.
  • Knowledge of design software is desirable.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Additional Information

  • The internship provides hands-on experience in communications, event management, and research within an international organization.

  • Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
