The internship is UNPAID and full-time; interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the division or office to which they are assigned
Support the Section on Sustainable Development and Countries in Special Situations, which coordinates the work of relevant ESCAP divisions to support least developed countries, landlocked developing countries, and small island developing States
Assist in the coordination of the annual Asia-Pacific SDG Partnership Report and the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development, focusing on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and SDG implementation strategies
Conduct data analysis, research, and literature review for the SDG Partnership Report
Assist in data collection, compilation, and analysis for the Asia-Pacific SDG Partnership Report or other reports as necessary
Conduct background and preliminary research for the Asia-Pacific SDG Partnership Report or other reports
Develop data work and analytical knowledge products to support trainings, learning events, and other capacity development initiatives
Provide logistical support to meetings and events, including preparatory meetings for the Asia-Pacific SDG Partnership Report and High-level Political Forum events
Update relevant websites with material related to SDG activities
Support the team in day-to-day activities and other tasks as required
Qualifications / Special Skills
Enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher), or
Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level), or
Graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and able to commence the internship within one year of graduation
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required
Knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations
Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution
Non-citizens or non-permanent residents may need to obtain appropriate visa and work/employment authorization before starting the internship
