Assist the Sustainable Development and Countries in Special Situations Section (SDCSS) in event organization, communications, and stakeholder engagement related to the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) and the 2030 Agenda follow-up and review.
Provide logistical support for meetings and events organized by the section, specifically for the APFSD.
Design and create communications and social media outreach materials, including videos, flyers, social media cards, briefs, presentations, documents, and blogs.
Support in updating related websites with relevant material.
Perform tasks related to strategic communications and public information.
Upload knowledge management products to the external website.
Research, analyze, and present information gathered from diverse sources.
Prepare meetings with internal and external stakeholders, as required.
Monitor, moderate, and engage with online communities.
Support the delivery and reporting of trainings, learning events, and other capacity development initiatives.
Support youth engagement processes and activities surrounding the APFSD.
Assist the team in day-to-day activities and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher), or
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level), or
Have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish).
Additional Information
Internship is UNPAID and full-time (five days per week, 37.5 hours).
Interns are responsible for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses.
Non-citizens or non-residents may require appropriate visa and work authorization.
Interns gain first-hand experience of SDCSS activities and direct engagement in the APFSD
