The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) - Joint Middle Office Department (JMO) - Counterparty Management/KYC Centre of Expertise (KYC), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship

Counterparty Management/KYC Centre of Expertise (KYC) Division is part of the Joint Middle Office (JMO) Department which is a key component of the EIB’s 1st Line of Defence. Two of the principal objectives of the members of the Division are to ensure:

  • The identification and verification of our Clients (and their related parties) at onboarding and their ongoing monitoring on a risk based approach, and
  • The timely and flawless execution of ML-FT risk assessment of EIB Counterparties.

You will assist in the on-going project of verifying, and where needed of enhancing, the KYC data, therefore contributing to the maintenance of high-quality client records.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for quality checks of client data, and where needed of enhancing data, under the supervision and guidance of a senior KYC analyst. The tasks will include executing data searches, input and updating of reports.

Academic qualifications and professional skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree preferably in Legal, Business Administration or other similar university degree.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Word & Excel);
  • Previous exposure/experience in data quality checks will be an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
