The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General (SG) – Communication Department (COM) – Planning, Intelligence and Resource Unit (PLR), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2025)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship

The traineeship offers an opportunity to support the EIB Group Communication Department in implementing and improving key communication tools and processes. The role focuses on:

  • Enhancing a communication and engagement coordination and planning tool
  • Upgrading databases and tools to improve journalist outreach and increase the visibility and impact of news and press releases.

This position provides hands-on experience in communications technology, project management, and media engagement, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of communication activities across the EIB Group.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks will be:

  • Coordination and Planning Tool Implementation Support
    • Maintain and update implementation procedures and playbooks, outlining workflows, processes, and usage guidelines.
    • Collect and analyse user feedback to improve tool usability and identify areas for enhancement.
    • Input event and planning data into the tool, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Support the coordination of training sessions for users.
  • News/Press Releases Distribution Process & Tools
    • Assist in upgrading current tools and processes for journalist outreach.
    • Collect and analyse data to improve dashboarding and reporting on press activity impact and visibility.
    • General Administrative Support
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings, training sessions, and stakeholder workshops.
    • Conduct ad hoc research, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making.
Academic qualifications and professional skills
  • Final year of studies or University degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Political Science, Economics, International Affairs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, especially Excel and/or Power BI.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Fluency in English and/or French (additional EU languages are an advantage).
