Global Communities is seeking an Enterprise Applications Specialist to join its IT Department at the Headquarters in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. The Enterprise Applications Specialist provides systems support and conducts analysis to leverage technology solutions to meet business needs. S/he maintains and supports the organization’s portfolio of enterprise business applications; keeps the applications current by implementing new features as released and performing system upgrades; and implements application enhancements by identifying user requirements, evaluating solutions to meet the requirements, configuring, executing, testing and implementing the solution.
The Enterprise Applications Specialist will be the technical and process subject matter expert for the organization’s enterprise business application systems. Primary job responsibilities include:
- Learn Global Communities’ suite of enterprise business applications, including understanding their interrelationship and dependencies. Work with vendors to maintain and support these applications, perform upgrades and implement new features as released.
- Configure, maintain and support the SharePoint business portal.
- Support and configure the SharePoint Online environment, including the corporate portal and multiple related site collections.
- Maintain and administer SharePoint Online services, including search, term store, user profiles and Yammer.
- Support end users with all SharePoint related issues.
- Perform top-level troubleshooting of technical issues related to application functionality. Track and follow issues through to resolution, including communications to all stakeholders.
- Identify and consider both the business and the technical needs of customers with the goal of providing quality solutions that meet the user needs. Configure, execute, test and implement the solution. Ensure that solutions implemented align with Global Communities’ mission to create long-lasting, positive, community led change that improves lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people across the globe.
- Develop documentation related to design, configuration, processes/workflow, integration/interface requirements and training.
- Develop and maintain troubleshooting and solution process and procedure documentation in order to build and enhance the knowledge base.
- Manage small application projects of simple to moderate complexity, which may include sub-components of larger scale projects as directed by Management.
- Develop relationships with business units, external consultants and vendors.
Required Skills
- Experience in maintenance, support, configuration, or implementation of business applications (i.e. CRM, ERP, donor management, fundraising and other enterprise business applications).
- Proficiency in configuration and implementation of sites using SharePoint Online. Experience with supporting and configuring site collections, libraries, lists, content types and workflows. Experience using SharePoint 2013 Designer and InfoPath Designer.
- Interest and ability to learn new business applications and related capabilities as required.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL Querying.
- Understanding of cloud computing and cloud based application services.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Visio and MS Project.
- Excellent customer services skills.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Abilities in a second language preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business users and technical staff.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2-5 years related experience in IT applications support, including a minimum of 2 years’ experience with supporting and configuring SharePoint Online Site Collections, Libraries, Lists, Content Types and Workflows. Experience using SharePoint 2013 Designer and InfoPath Designer; and 2 years’ experience in the support, configuration, or implementation of enterprise business applications (e.g. CRM, ERP, Donor Management, Fundraising, other enterprise business applications).
- Must have U.S. Work Authorization.
