The Mine Action Portfolio within the MCO in Kyiv is dedicated to supporting the national mine action authorities in Ukraine. The project aims to reduce the threat posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war, enabling safe and sustainable development.
The Field Operations Manager plays a critical role in the Mine Action team, ensuring effective coordination between the project office, field operations, and national mine action entities. The incumbent will manage field operations staff, conduct quality assurance, provide technical guidance, and contribute to all aspects of the project under the direction of the Senior Portfolio Manager (Mine Action).
1. Field Operations Management
Manage and supervise field operations staff, ensuring efficient and effective implementation of mine action activities.
Develop and implement field operational plans in line with project objectives and national standards.
Monitor field activities, identify challenges, and implement corrective actions to ensure project targets are met.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all field operations.
Provide technical guidance and support to field teams on mine action techniques and best practices.
2. Liaison and Coordination
Serve as the primary liaison between the project office and national state Mine Action entities, including government agencies and relevant stakeholders.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with national authorities to ensure effective coordination and collaboration.
Participate in relevant meetings and forums, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
Facilitate information sharing and communication between the project office and national partners.
Support the Senior Portfolio Manager (Mine Action) in developing and implementing strategies for engaging with national stakeholders.
3. Quality Assurance and Technical Support
Conduct quality assurance (QA) on the work of operations staff, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
Provide technical guidance and support to the Senior Portfolio Manager (Mine Action) on all aspects of the project.
Develop and implement QA procedures and protocols for field operations.
Identify training needs and develop training programs for field staff.
Contribute to the development of technical reports and documentation.
4. Project Contribution
Contribute to all aspects of the project, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Provide input into the development of project proposals and work plans.
Support the Senior Portfolio Manager(Mine Action) in managing project budgets and resources.
Identify and mitigate project risks.
Contribute to the development of lessons learned and best practices
