The UN Secretary-General launched a global reform on 1 January 2019, repositioning the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently toward the 2030 Agenda and SDGs.
UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), led by an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator, support countries in achieving development priorities and SDGs.
This position is located in the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Thailand.
Internship is unpaid and full-time:
Minimum internship period of 3 months for full-time engagement, or 4 months for part-time.
Full-time: at least 35 hours/week (5 days).
Part-time: 2.5 days/week.
Reporting in-office with potential for remote arrangements.
The intern will report to the Communications & Advocacy Officer and support the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO).
Responsibilities include:
Gaining first-hand experience in UN Country Team activities via the RCO team
Supporting public outreach, digital communications, and advocacy efforts
Assisting in website management and visibility activities to enhance UN contributions in Thailand
Qualifications/Special Skills
Must meet one of the following at the time of application:
Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme (second university degree or higher)
Enrolled in or completed the final year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s or equivalent)
Demonstrated keen interest in UN work and commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter
Willingness to understand and respect differing opinions and views
Experience in editing, writing, and translating Thai and English content
Demonstrated ability to turn ideas into actionable content
Attentive, organized, flexible, and motivated
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is desirable
Languages
Fluency in Thai and English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) is required
Intern-Specific Information
Internship is not financially remunerated
Travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or sponsoring institution
Non-citizens or non-permanent residents may require appropriate visa and work/employment authorization
