Internship located in the Public Information Office within the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM), Geneva, Switzerland.
Internship duration: minimum 3 months, maximum 6 months, with desired start date of 01 October 2025.
UNPAID and full-time; interns work 5 days per week (40 hours).
Opportunity to work closely with the Associate Public Information Officer and the Public Information Officer.
Contribute to outreach activities and develop content for social media, newsletters, and the website.
Specific duties may include:
Developing social media content.
Producing videos, infographics, and other visual materials.
Writing content for social media, website, and newsletters.
Facilitating translation of texts by liaising with the translation team and ensuring timely receipt of translations.
Taking notes during relevant meetings, including sessions of the Human Rights Council.
Monitoring relevant news and circulating daily press clippings.
Intern reports to the Public Information Officer within the Office of Head of Entity.
Qualifications/Special Skills Applicants must meet one of the following:
Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher).
Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Field of study must be closely related to the internship applied for.
Must provide official proof of academic status or degree upon request.
Desirable skills and experience:
Drafting news articles and social media posts in English.
Designing social media posts, including use of design software.
Creating short videos or animations, including use of video editing software.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
Fluency in English is required for this internship.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
