Job Description
With the goal of continuing to strengthen the learning environment at Blumont, the newly created Learning and Development Associate role will build opportunities for professional growth throughout the organization. The Learning and Development Associate performs responsibilities in developing and maintaining a learning and development platform for the HQ and global teams at Blumont. This role is responsible for creating, compiling, consolidating and coordinating internal and external learning resources across Blumont and aligning them with strategic objectives and outcomes. In addition to learning and development accountabilities, will perform HR generalist duties to include assistance with recruitment, onboarding, compliance and audit reports. The position reports to the Human Resources Manager and will be a part of the Human Resources Team. The position is based in the Headquarters Office in Arlington, VA.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with HR management team to conduct needs assessments, identify skill/knowledge gaps.
- Research, evaluate and develop strategic learning platform. Design and implement effective programs aligned with Blumont’s operational objectives
- Identify internal resources, online learning, external training and vendor sources to provide leadership, management, subject matter expertise, technical, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), administrative and compliance training
- Plan, administer, schedule and support learning events including meetings, classes and webinars. Create and update video training aids, manuals and course collateral
- Collaborate with Global HR Director to ensure learning resources align with Blumont’s performance management program and meet performance objectives, measure outcomes and recognize accomplishments
- Develop and manage a centralized calendar and tracking system, updating Blumont training-related activities and communicating and promoting opportunities
- Respond to HR and training related inquiries and issues and propose resolution
- Assist HR Manager with recruitment process from job descriptions and postings to interviews, reference checking, Form AID 1420-17 verification, new hire paperwork and new employee orientation
- Initiate onboarding process, schedule US and expat/TCN new hires and conduct onboarding sessions when needed
- Manage intern program, working with department manager to post positions, recruit, interview, make offers and conduct orientation
- Work with HR manager to aggregate and assess exit interview data and propose relevant training or policy/process enhancements
- Manage data input and integrity of information entered into HR and Payroll systems (i.e., SuccessFactors, CostPoint, ADP); ensure processes are well articulated and followed
- Assist with preparation of audit and compliance reports (i.e., EEO, VETSl00, 5500)
- Assist and act as backup to Administrative Business Partner with administrative office duties when needed
- Perform other relevant duties as requested
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 3 – 5 years training, learning and development experience
- 2 – 3 years human resources generalist experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with variety of training platforms, methods and tools (i.e., Teams, Skillsoft, Easygenerator)
- Experience with HRIS systems a plus (i.e., SuccessFactors)
- Strong knowledge and experience using MS Office apps (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Experience working with highly confidential employee information required
