Responsibilities encompass all aspects of the Directorate’s work, including but not limited to:
Assist in analyzing international, regional, and domestic legal instruments.
Support the preparation of documents for meetings with Member States’ Permanent Missions to the United Nations in New York.
Support the organization of CTED meetings and seminars.
Monitor relevant Security Council meetings and produce timely, concise briefing notes.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate degree programme in law (LLB, JD, LLM, PhD), international affairs, or political science.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Proficiency in another United Nations language is desirable.
Intern Specific Information
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
Costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken may require the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
