Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in analysing and interpreting international, regional, and domestic legal instruments.
  • Assist in planning and organising meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars, and other CTED events.
  • Prepare documents and arrangements for CTC/CTED meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars, and other events.
  • Prepare background notes and talking points for meetings, missions, and other events attended by CTED staff.
  • Conduct research to contribute to CTED analytical products on trends and developments in terrorism and counter-terrorism.
  • Research, draft, and update country profiles and other background documents for high-level meetings and other events.
  • Assist with preparing infographics and visual aids for CTED documents and presentations.
  • Attend and take notes at meetings, conferences, and other events; assist in preparing summaries and reports of discussions.
  • Assist in other ad-hoc activities as instructed.
  • Interest in counterterrorism issues or international criminal law is desirable.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Must be enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master’s or higher) or in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (Bachelor’s or equivalent), preferably in law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, candidates who have graduated with a university degree must commence the internship within one year of graduation.

Languages

  • Fluency in English or French (oral and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of another language is desirable.

  • Costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or sponsoring institution.
  • Non-citizens or non-permanent residents may need appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
