General objectives of the position
The SAME/EHA coordinator, as a technical referent on the mission, contributes to the development of the programmatic strategy of the Solidarités International mission in Niger, by proposing an intersectoral strategy and sectoral strategies in the field of Security Food and Livelihoods, and Water, Hygiene and Sanitation.
He/she is in particular responsible for the quality and relevance of the technical and methodological approaches proposed and ensures the adequacy between the activities, the needs of the populations, the mission, regional and association strategies.
He/she coordinates the project cycle and intervenes in all phases of project management
He/she contributes to the process of capitalization and improvement of WASH/SAME methods and techniques of Solidarités International.
The program coordinator of the mission also ensures coordination with operational and institutional partners, as well as participation and representation in sectoral or technical exchange platforms at the national level.
Specific issues and challenges

- Make EHA / SAME diagnoses for writing projects and positioning the mission.
- Develop the intervention methodology and ensure SI expertise in WASH / SAME
- Assist in the establishment of the SAME sub-department and the development of expertise in the field of monetary transfers and support for agricultural and livestock production chains and develop legitimacy in these sectors with communities and partners
- Promote innovations in the fields of SAME, EHA and monetary transfers (mobile telephony, digitization of cash)
- Contribute to the development of future project proposals in SAME/EHA
- Develop the mission’s SAME/EHA strategy to go beyond emergency and recovery activities (Nexus programming)
- Represent SI at the level of the SAME/EHA cluster and with operational partners and RRM coordination in particular
- Priorities for the first 2-3 months
- Contribute to the development of future WASH / SAME project proposals by actively participating in future diagnostics and by setting up a mechanism for monitoring continuous humanitarian needs in the areas of intervention
- Accompany and supervise the EHA / SAME team through the development of a capacity building plan and methodological and technical documents
Continue to develop networking in the humanitarian sector and particularly the SAME and EHA sector in Niger
YOUR PROFILE
Education: Technical or general higher education: 1) Master’s degree in international relations, development and humanitarian action, political science or equivalent or 2) Have a solid experience of 5 years as a project/programme manager, ideally as Coordinator of SAME or SAME/ EHA.
Experience: at least 3 years of experience as a humanitarian worker
Experience in difficult security areas with strict security rules.
Skills / Knowledge:
- Have technical skills in SAME and knowledge in WASH.
- Prior experience in emergency contexts essential;
- Have methodological expertise in the implementation of cash transfer programs
- Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, in particular in program data management
- Experience (related to the position and responsibilities) with IS is desired.
- Knowledge of the country or area is strongly desired
Human qualities :
- Leadership and management capacity
- Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Excellent writing skills in French, English would be a plus
- Flexibility and adaptation, innovative and flexible, able to find solutions quickly
Languages: Excellent command of French
