Support the Americas Division, DPPA-DPO at UN Headquarters, New York.
Assist DPPA’s work on Indigenous Peoples’ engagement in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and early warning processes.
Attend and provide analytical notes on conferences and meetings, including the 25th UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (April 2026).
Draft thematic papers, briefing materials, profiles, and correspondence.
Conduct research on Indigenous conflict methodologies and Indigenous peacebuilding.
Perform media monitoring and analysis of relevant events.
Assist in the organization of meetings.

Qualifications / Special Skills
Fields of study: Political Science, International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Law (especially human rights and sustainable development), Indigenous Studies, Anthropology, or related fields.
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher).
Enrolled in the final year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s).
Graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation.
No professional work experience is required.
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish).
