This is role is based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, with some provincial travel. We encourage you to apply.

The Role

The Security Manager will lead and proactively support the security function for DT Global. This includes managing a team of security personnel and advisers, ensuring the effective implementation and management of security protocols, risk assessments, and incident management procedures. The Security Manager will provide security support and management to all DT Global staff in PNG, working closely with the Security & Transport Officers from each program and the corporate office. Additionally, the Security Manager will liaise with other DT Global Security Focal Points and the Global Security Manager. In the event of a security incident, the Security Manager will be responsible for initiating, leading, and coordinating Incident Management Team (IMT) meetings, ensuring timely and effective response, communication, and resolution in line with DT Global’s security policies and procedures.

About You:

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in security or risk management

Essential experience and knowledge

  • A minimum of 10 years of practical and demonstrated experience in a similar security role working for a large development program
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and resolving high level safety incidents and reporting
  • Experience in leading or managing a small team
  • Previous experience working across PNG with a well-established network
  • Knowledge and / or experience of applying GEDSI and safeguards principles

  • Ability to apply independent judgement and influence, and develop consensus on difficult and controversial issues, balancing multiple stakeholder expectations and objectives
