About the role
The Strategy Manager will be responsible for driving the development and implementation CEPI’s strategic direction to define and achieve CEPI’s strategic targets. This includes defining a strong business case for investing in CEPI as well as overseeing the development and implementation of CEPI’s long term strategy.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the process of setting / refreshing CEPI’s strategic vision, objectives, strategic themes and priorities
- Drive the strategic development of the organisation through internal and external analysis; identification of strategic opportunities; development of strategic options and recommendations; preparation of strategic proposals; execution of those proposals
- Engage and align internal and external stakeholders around areas of strategic importance for CEPI, reconciling perspectives and building agreed strategic solutions
- Drive cross-departmental teams to deliver strategic initiatives including managing and influencing senior stakeholders to enable successful delivery
- Maintain ownership of CEPI’s strategic documentation
- In collaboration with other relevant departments, develop a business case for investing in CEPI, including through the drafting/updating of strategic elements of CEPI’s Investment Case
Education, Experience and Competence
- Experience of identifying and articulating strategic and policy issues, tradeoffs and priorities to provide sound advice.
- Experience of managing strategy development and/or strategy implementation projects in an R&D setting (including industry, global health or management consultancy), with a track record of high achievement in this role (typically 3-5 years of strategic management experience)
- Experience in managing the navigation of decisions and/or their execution through multiple parties in matrixed organisations
- Experience and understanding of global health / life sciences R&D.
- Proactive and can-do attitude, takes accountability for delivery.
- High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Essential: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in life sciences, economics, business administration or relevant subject.
- Essential: Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with applying new IT tools across tasks.
- Essential: Experience in qualitative and quantitative research approaches.
- Strong written and verbal English language skills.
- Ability to adapt and work within a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.
Travel and Location Requirements
- Position based in either London, UK, or Oslo, Norway.
- Travel to other CEPI offices as assigned.
