The Industry and Economy Division encourages decision makers in government, local authorities, and industry to adopt sustainable policies, technologies, and practices.
UNEP FI (Finance Initiative) partners with over 500 banks, insurers, and investors to advance sustainable finance, shape global standards, and support alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The intern will support the Regional Coordination Team for Latin America and the Caribbean within the UNEP FI Secretariat Team.
Intern Tasks May Include:
Assist in supporting relationships and communication with members and key stakeholders in the region, promoting information exchange, learning, best practices, and sustainability commitments (e.g., PRB, PSI, NZ Alliances).
Coordinate communication with internal global teams, regional consultants, and partners.
Assist with the organization and coordination of meetings, including preparing minutes, follow-ups, presentations, and other materials; translating documents into Spanish and/or Portuguese as needed.
Support communications for events, webinars, trainings, and other key regional activities.
Assist with the rollout of various regional projects.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Must meet one of the following at the time of application:
Enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher).
Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent).
Have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Fields of study: Economics, Political Science, Sustainability and/or Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Business Administration, Finance.
Some experience in communications is an asset.
Proof of enrollment or graduation date must be provided.
No professional work experience is required, but a field of study relevant to the internship is essential.
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Spanish is required; knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat.
