Andrew Sisson is the new head of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s mission in Pakistan. He arrived in the Asian country Oct. 26.
“I am looking forward to working in partnership with the Government of Pakistan, local organizations, as well as our international partners to make sure that the assistance from the American people to the people of Pakistan is delivered in the most transparent, accountable, and effective manner,” Sisson noted according to a USAID press release.
USAID’s mission in Pakistan is one of the agency’s largest programs worldwide. It focuses primarily on supporting economic growth, post-flood reconstruction and health and educational development.
Sisson brings to the office more than 20 years of experience with USAID programs, including assignments in Washington, D.C. and countries such as Kosovo, Rwanda, Ghana and India.
