    Opinion: How we make this UN conference on women’s rights count

    Kicking off this week, the 69th U.N. Commission on the Status of Women is a chance to reverse the rollback of women's rights. Global leaders must act urgently or face being complicit.

    For Christian Aid — and many of our partners around the world — gender justice is not simply a means to ending poverty but is an aim in and of itself.

    Our vision is a world of gender justice and equity in which neither women nor men nor any other gender identity of any age, ability, sexuality, ethnicity, or caste, are excluded or marginalized. A vision where all live in dignity.

    That is the message we will be taking to world leaders at the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women this week. Reflecting on recent times, never has gender justice been more needed.
