Donors should “contribute generously” to the U.N.’s USD51 million aid appeal for flood victims in Sri Lanka, the aid agency Oxfam International has urged.
“Hopefully, the UN appeal will help donors grasp the magnitude of this crisis,” said Thusitha Siriwardana, Oxfam’s campaign manager in Sri Lanka.
The U.N. appeal covers funding needed to address the humanitarian needs of more than 1 million flood victims over the next six months.
