The United Nations Development Program and Sudan's National Elections Commission and Ministry of International Cooperation have signed an agreement that will involve a multidonor contribution of USD91 million for the country's forthcoming elections,
reports. The money will be used to produce ballot cards, finance civic awareness campaigns and candidate education, and help train election officers and local police on electoral security. Donors include Italy, the U.K., Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Japan, the Netherlands and France.
